There Will Never Be Another Table Exactly Like Yours
Natural sandstone, cut, shaped, polished and finished around your room, your proportions and the character you want the stone to have. No catalogue size. No stock piece. No identical second table waiting in a warehouse.
See How Yours Could Be Made
You Choose the Table. The Stone Still Brings Something of Its Own.
The attraction of natural sandstone is that control and unpredictability exist together. The size, shape, edge and finish can be designed. The movement, grain and individual markings belong to the stone itself.
You can choose the dimensions.
You can choose the shape.
You can choose the edge.
You can choose the finish.
You can choose the base.
But the stone still makes sure no second table can ever be exactly the same.
From Raw Surface to Finished Statement Piece
The making and finished result belong together. One shows the work. The other shows why that work matters.
DURING POLISHING
The Surface Is Built, Not Simply Wiped Shiny
The slab is flattened, refined and polished through controlled stages until the selected level of clarity and sheen is reached.
FINISHED PIECE
The Grain Becomes Part of the Room
Once finished, the natural movement in the sandstone becomes the visual feature rather than something hidden beneath a dull surface.
The Same Material Can Become a Completely Different Piece
The commission begins with where the table will live and what role it needs to play in the room.
Dining Table
A central piece designed around the proportions of the room and the number of people it needs to seat.
Boardroom Table
A larger architectural commission where presence, scale and cable management can be considered together.
Console Table
A narrower statement piece for entrance halls, landings or spaces where stone needs to feel deliberate rather than heavy.
Coffee Table
A lower, more sculptural use of sandstone where the edge, base and natural pattern become especially visible.
Statement Piece
For spaces where the brief is simply to create something that does not exist anywhere else.
What Can Be Chosen
Size and Shape
Rectangle, round, oval or another proportion developed around the room and intended use.
Stone Character
Paler, warmer, quieter or more expressive material depending on availability and the visual direction of the project.
Edge Detail
Natural dressed edge, chamfer, pencil, bullnose, waterfall or another detail where appropriate.
Surface Finish
Honed, satin, soft sheen or higher polish according to the stone and the way you want it to respond to light.
Base
Stone, steel, timber, glass or a concealed support system can be considered as part of the design.
Functional Details
Cable access, power integration and other details can be discussed where they suit the intended use.
From Conversation to Finished Table
Brief
We begin with the space, dimensions, intended use and the character you want the piece to have.
Stone
The material is selected around the tone, movement and practical requirements of the commission.
Shape
The slab is cut, trued and developed to the agreed form and proportions.
Surface
Grinding and refinement establish flatness before the final finish is built.
Detail
Edges, base interfaces and any agreed practical details are completed as part of the build.
Finish
The final surface is polished or honed to the selected level and protected where appropriate.
Stone Has a Presence That Manufactured Furniture Cannot Reproduce
Sandstone feels warm, organic and architectural. Its grain responds to changing light, and the natural variation means the surface keeps revealing detail as you move around it.
- Every slab has its own movement, tone and markings
- Natural edges can remain visible rather than being hidden
- The finish can be controlled from soft honed to highly reflective
- The table can be designed around the room rather than selected from a stock size
- The piece is made as a long-term commission rather than a seasonal furniture purchase
You Do Not Need to Arrive With a Finished Design
The first conversation can be simple. The detail is developed after we understand the space and what you are trying to create.
Conversation
Tell us where the table will go and what you want it to feel like in the room.
Concept
Dimensions, shape, edge, finish and base are developed around the brief.
Stone Selection
Material is chosen around visual character, availability and suitability.
Build
The table is cut, shaped, refined, polished and detailed to the agreed specification.
Completion
Delivery and installation requirements are agreed as part of the individual commission.
Every Table Starts With the Piece, Not a Price List
The final cost depends on the stone, dimensions, thickness, edge detail, base, finish, access and installation requirements.
The current starting point for bespoke sandstone table commissions is from £5,000, with delivery and installation assessed separately where required.
